If people don’t speak up in a community about bad behavior, it never gets addressed. Believe me i understand the work and value what mods do in leading communities. If i had my way they’d be paid full time salary with benefits.

Thats not true. I care about society and the community at large so i can raise bad behavior in a meta sense to have a conversation about it without it bothering me.
