That's not a graphics card issue. It is a bug in the game. It started happening for me on Dragon Valley a few years ago but thankfully I haven't noticed it outside of that map. I wish I knew what caused it.

That would make sense. An "unranked" server would, I assume, basically be running without much ( any? ) connection to EA. A ranked server on the other hand must maintain a connection to EA's systems and this connection seems to be the one experiencing issues.

It's not intentional. EA is not capable of the independent thought that such duplicitous actions require. If EA wanted to kill this game they would just do it outright like they did with the console servers.
