I can't argue with what you personally experienced, but the video submitted shows a player shooting through a sprite, and invisible to the opponents. The only thing visible is the light from the muzzle flash. This is cheating.

In the video, the person appears to be firing from inside the geometry. This is not ok. Just because it can be crawled into it doesn't make it legal especially if you are hiding behind a poorly programmed sprite.
