I'm known and occasionally hated for... using an 870 (the pump) with slugs. I put on a 3.4x for no glint, and I'll even snipe with it on occasion. I can also clear hallways with it while hip-firing ;).

They have a smaller, 'holey' one (MM710/MM711 I think) that I have... somewhere. I've used it as a travel mouse before and it works well enough, though certainly built to a lower standard that my Glorious Model O mice. Still perfectly serviceable and gameable on!
