I just recently got banned (1 day) due to politics. I believe this is inaccurate as I was not engaging directly in political discussion.



The chat had mentioned the name Trump, which, prior to the election/inauguration, was a kickable/bannable word (As was the current president, VP, etc).



I noticed the player did not get kicked for political speech, so I wondered if they removed the instant kick- political/name filter on the server. It looked like they did.

That is why I listed the names of "Trump, Biden, and Kamala" to see if they are still filtered (they weren't).

I was not engaging in political speech, so I listed political names to see if the server still filtered it.

Spamming chat, I can see, but saying it was political is not accurate.

Ethnicity is described as "Ethnicity is a characterization of people based on having a shared culture (e.g., language, food, music, dress, values, and beliefs) related to common ancestry and shared history."

So technically, an individual could engage in hate speech against an ethnicity, and it would not be considered racism. You might want to make it so that it encompasses ethnic discrimination as well as racism.

Report it on the forums and don't contribute to the conversation.

This is where you messed up and started evading the chat filter/mentioning politics and/or political figures.

Regardless of what you feel was political or not in your messages, it could've resulted in further political chat and prompted other players to participate. It's one of the most direct and clear rules that we have, which is simply "No political chat". You should know better by now given that you also have a prior history with us for political chat.

Because you were essentially talking politics and evading our chat filter, you will be serving your full ban duration. Your current ban expires in approximately 23 hours. The ban that was issued was not out of context or inaccurate. All players' chat logs are recorded and can be viewed by anyone from our stats page. Like the saying goes, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

Also we're not changing our racism rule. It's another simple rule that doesn't need any further explanation.

Thank you for your considerate and well-thought-out reply.

I understand that you feel it was political rhetoric. However, I was not "evading" the chat filter; the chat filter wasn't functioning. I straightforwardly typed the names.
I hope this clears up some of your confusion.

I saw the chat logs. Not just your messages, but the messages of others sent within the same time frame. I'm well aware of the context as to what happened.

Your ban will stick and you should avoid mentioning anything political in the future. Subsequent reports in the future or any auto server issued punishments will be longer in length.

I'm glad you took time out of your day to get up to speed with the situation. It means a lot.

If any subsequent reports that are not "political" appear, will they be treated equally to the most recent ban/reports?
For example, say I get reported for an accidental team kill. Will this be a continuation of my current ban/report status? Or will this start a new report/ban for a separate incident?
