It's the real one, just set to like 8 slots or something. The cost to hold it with 8 slots is only a few bucks for us so it makes sense to keep it around in case BF4 ever gets another mass injection of players like the pre-2042 or COVID madness.

Sadly I don't see it as feasible to bring it back at this point. As @Coldkiller mentioned even the softcore one isn't filling. I'm constantly amazed at how well bZ #1 does as the hardcore community is really slim pickings at this point.
