Amazon Prime Day

So Amazon is having a "black friday" day of sorts for the whole day of 7/15.

http://www.amazon.com/

I order off of Amazon a lot and have a Prime account so I thought I'd throw this out there for fellow Prime users. If you don't have a Prime account and see some shit on the site you want then I suggest you find someone to order it for you. OR, you can simply try out the trial version for free and just use it to cheat for a bit on the deals lol.

Main thing that caught my eye was this bad boy.

If you need a SSD, this is a solid (pun intended) choice for one. They're reliable, have great speeds (even match the nicer Intels I have) and best of all, cheap with the deal on them right now.

Enjoy. I'm going to pick up a few of these myself for another RAID 0 setup.

Yup, just ordered a MSI 980 Ti GTX Gaming with free 1 day shipping. Hopefully will have it by the next offshift.

Girlfriend is gone on vacation so I will come by for once and hang out with everyone in TS!

Lemme know how that card performs. I use the 780ti and haven't needed to upgrade just yet, but there are games coming out that are pushing it to its limits finally so it won't be long before I need to move up again to stay at the top.

Yea, I have a MSI GTX 770 Gaming and I have it stupidly OC'ed. So it will be a close comparison.

I only run with two monitors, 24" @ 1920x1200, so it isn't like I will press the 980 Ti to its limits without using DSR or something crazy.

Yeah I use 2 monitors @1080p. I know anything less than 1440p there's like 4-6% difference between the 980/780 ti's. 1440p and up is where the 980ti truly shines. I may just OC my GPU or SLI it. That would be better probably for me. Not to mention cheaper for me. Already rockin the CPU @ 4.8.

Yea, I am rocking it at 5.2Ghz for my 2600k, but even at 1080p the best thing is you can max out literally everything. Including MSAA and SSAO, VSync, turn up the resolution scale to 200% on BF4 and other games, throw on DSR, etc without worrying about performance dropping below 60 FPS, let alone 40 FPS. It'll be sweet.

I am getting it mainly for DX12 games and Doom 4, haha. playing them in all of their glory!

Yeah BF4 is a joke to my gpu. Only 3 games out there that can put my card through its paces on max. Witcher 3, Arma 2/3 (though this is fixable if you know how to work around the engine flaws) and ARK: Survival Evolved. Witcher 3 I can barely manage a constant 60 at max. Arma 2/3 has a horrible engine flaw that leaks vram and misuses the resources of your gpu, but you can get around that. ARK needs a lot of optimization still but it's early access so I don't mind much. It's getting better.

Problem is all this new console hardware is going to allow devs to finally up quality of graphics on games, which will in turn (even for ports) cause PC games to make better use of superior gpu's. It's good in the long run, but those with older cards are going to need to upgrade really soon or settle playing at shit levels of graphics. I prefer to enjoy the finer things in life so I'll probably upgrade "if" the newer games that come in the near future force me to.
