BanZore Monthly Meeting Notes July 2nd, 2016


J: So the battlefield servers are still taking a bit to get going. It’s especially hard with the alpha going out right now. Takes some time to get going. That’s something we just gotta work on and work harder at. Battlefield 1, I’ll be getting the game and we will be having servers for it. We will be keeping up the Battlefield 4 servers until everyone just loses interest. Of course that’s gonna cost extra. The metro server, a lot of people have been asking for other maps to be put in, we’ve tried it; shut up about it. I know people want to have Propoganda and Lumphini Garden, it did not work. That server is meant to be a meat grinder. People don’t know how to to function and they just want a lot of kills at once. That will NOT be changed to that. It’s meant for easy kills and quick fun and window licking. So All Maps, we did put some maps into the rotation, and we plan and taking some off. Like Lancang Dam and replacing it with maybe Guilin Peaks and just kind of changing up the rotation. Gulf of Oman has suddenly been played maybe 40 times today.
    -Idea of rotation of maps on Locker was brought up and quickly shot down.

J: I did put up a thread a while back. I need to know everyone that is a member and I need to know your email address for paypal and in game name. It also adds into the database to where I can see everyone’s email address so I can tell who they are when donating.

J: Respect each other like always. Don’t be a douche to each other and just game on. No reason ever to start a fight and if you do, take it to another channel.
J: If you need an admin, please don’t come to me immediately. If there’s some menial shit, there’s a lot of admins on and that is their job. I’m more than happy to help but often times I’m busy. The admins need a sense of purpose. I can’t just be doing everything and the admins are just thumbs up their ass. I’m guilty of this, jumping onto every situation. Please, get another admin that you know can handle it.
J: Something that hasn’t been much of an issue, but I just kinda want to make this clear, Admins are not god. They’re not your boss. You don’t have to talk a certain way to them or anything but they do deserve some respect because they do some work for free. They put a lot of work in for free. If they ask you to do something, please do it, because there’s probably a reason. But at the same time, we’re all humans. Don’t ever feel like if I’m doing something wrong or if an admin is doing something wrong, don’t be afraid to say that you disagree with it. I always have an open door policy.
J: There will be more changes to the community. We are going to be putting in some type of ranking system, we’re talking about a military ranking system, so people can works towards things. If people aren’t doing things, we can back them down and someone else can take that place. It’ll help to drive people to do more things. The problem is that we have admins becoming admins and then not doing anything. So if you just kinda want to be here, then that’s the rank that you’ll get. We haven’t put it into stone or anything like that but we’re planning on doing something to help drive the community. Those are some of the changes that are going to be in place; It’s not going to be in effect only in game, but on the forums and on teamspeak. We’re gonna be working on that and it’s gonna take a little bit of work but we’ll get it going. Also within those ranks, we’re talking about stuff like specialist or a warrant officer. Specialty roles; I.e. Graphic artist, recruiting, code monkeys. Those are speciality roles that they do for us. If you’re giving something that the community can benefit from, there might be something. I want people’s input on this, so at the end of the meeting, I do want people’s input on what they think about a ranking system and what it’s going to do. It’s going to help solidify roles and given a chain of command. With as quickly as the community is growing, there needs to be more organization because it’s going from militia to army. At the end of the meeting, as we go down the list, I’d like the feedback on that if you have any.
J: The website is still being worked on. I’m working on it with Hawx. I know the frontpage looks bad.
J: Now with us going to Battlefield 1, we’re going to need more money to keep both servers going. We’re already at about 350 dollars a month. We’ll have to pay for slots but usually when a new game comes out it is really expensive per slot. I know we’ve had a lot of request for a Rush or Domination server; that’s possible in BF1 if we have the right amount of money. If your server is not up on Day 1 for BF1, it’s not gonna go anywhere. Day 1, admins on, just pounding the shit out of it. We’re gonna need money for that.
J: For those that don’t know, we do have a WhatsApp where people just bullshit all day.
