currently bz7 is running attack/defend mode for each side. this is new like 2 days now. it gets long. is this permanent or will it go back to one run per map?

We're aware of the ongoing issues with some of the servers, work is being done to correct said issues.
Good to hear that y'all are aware. The map rotation is also reverted to vanilla it seems. I'm wondering that when it gets fixed, would you guys be open to adding any more maps to the rotation? I think it would be cool if BZ7 added Altai Range, Operation Mortar, and Dragon Pass. I think it would help keep things fresh.
