A new patch is out! Please restart your games and update your servers to make sure you're on the latest version.

Server browser
  • Made gui functionality and filter for servers where VAC is disabled

General Bug Fixes and Improvements
  • Chat window should now scroll properly
  • Newly added keybindings or redefined keybindings should now update and save correctly
  • Sloped roof should now be easier to place out when building
  • Logging out with fists equipped breaks the character.
  • Weapon armor penetration value can now be seen on the inventory screen
  • Armor knockback resistance value can now be seen on the inventory screen
  • Fixed a case of thralls not having the correct visuals
  • Female characters have stopped taking testosterone and should now sound like females
  • Fixed thralls having collision when attempting to place them out

  • Crossbows should now fire consistently
  • Characters will no longer become unplayable and require a restart if knocked back during the Surrender emote

  • Fixed a case where javelin/spear will not throw until second attempt
  • Tweaked throwing weapon trajectories

A new patch is out! Please restart your games and update your servers to make sure you're on the latest version. Before we get to the changelog we have an announcement to make:

Announcing the Exploit Hunters!

We’re still in the early days of our Early Access adventure and there is a lot work left to be done before final release of Conan Exiles in Q1 2018. The feedback we receive from you, the community, is invaluable to us in making sure we improve gameplay, squish bugs, and solve issues ahead of that final release.

One of the most important things we can do to make sure Conan Exiles provides a fair and balanced playing field is making sure we eliminate exploits as early as possible.

To help us with that we will soon be introducing the Exploit Hunters program. Here we will be rewarding players who provide us with information about the most serious exploits. With your help, we will be better equipped to handle potential future exploits which can destabilize servers and avoid the need for server wipes after serious cheating by catching them early.

We will be providing more information and details on the Exploit Hunters program next week.


Server Wipes
  • We are wiping all buildings on official non-blitz servers due to recent exploits (private servers are unaffected by this)
  • We are wiping all inventories (player backpack, containers etc) due to recent exploits (private servers unaffected by this)
  • We are keeping player character levels (but you get a free re-spec) due to feat changes discussed in TLDR below. Please give us feedback on these changes.
  • Server admins on private servers may perform a building and inventory wipe which keeps character levels by using the ServerCleanup.bat file in the gamedb folder to clean the current game database

  • NEW FEATURE: Ruins (decay) system! Cleans up old buildings over time. It is disabled by default on private servers and enabled by default on Official servers
  • NEW FEATURE: Dye System! Gather pigments and make all kinds of dyes in the Firebowl Cauldron to color your armor!
  • Added 8 new weapons and rebalanced all weapons so damage scales with level
  • Changed feat requirements and removed dependencies, added bonus knowledge points every 10 levels
  • Free feat respec when opening the feat GUI for the first time after this patch!
  • You can now craft the Hyena fur armor at the armorers bench if an armorer thrall is present
  • Thralls are now properly animated when working at crafting stations

Performance and Tech Fixes
  • Game install now grouped into .pak archives. 1st time loading speed from main menu into game should be improved by a factor of 3x
  • Game database is now backed up before upgrading the database as part of patching

Server Settings
  • Added a serversetting to modify how quickly thralls get converted (thrall crafting time multiplier)
  • Added a serversetting so all containers can be interacted with irrespective of ownership (containers ignore all ownership)
  • Added serversetting to modify NPC health also affects Thralls (NPC damage taken multiplier)
  • Added serversetting to modify the rate at which machines consume fuel (fuel burn time multiplier)
  • Added serversetting PlayerDamageTakenMultiplier

Text and Localization
  • Language choice should now save correctly
  • Added various localized text throughout the game

General Bug Fixes and Improvements
  • EXPLOIT FIX: You can no longer build inside cliffs or mountains
  • EXPLOIT FIX: Buildings will never spawn outside the curse wall
  • EXPLOIT FIX: You can no longer duplicate equipped armor pieces off of unconscious player bodies

Balance and Gameplay Fixes
  • Equip animation no longer overrides knockdown
  • You can now craft the Hyena fur armor at the armorers bench if an armorer thrall is present
  • Hyena fur armor requires Bone.
  • When last clan member leaves a clan, they take ownership of all clan buildings
  • Clan officers can no longer kick other officers. You can only kick players below you in rank from the clan
  • Harvesting cactus with bare hands now gives plant fiber and cochineal
  • Changed feat requirements and removed dependencies, added bonus knowledge points every 10 levels
  • Free feat respec when opening the feat GUI first time after this patch!

Visual Improvements
  • Players now see name tags of clan members in green text
  • Cleaned up and aligned the settings GUI
  • Thralls are now properly animated when working at crafting stations
  • Name tags stay longer onscreen and have become easier to read

Known issues
  • We are aware that some NPCs do not respawn correctly if players build too close. This will be fixed in the next patch.
  • We are aware of a stamina usage exploit. The fix will be rolled out with the next patch
  • Due to packaging the install files into .pak archives there is a 15-20 min wait once the client is downloaded before you can launch the game as the files unpack. This will only be the case for this patch.
  • When removing buildings that have become abandoned, in rare cases it is not possible to build on the same spot. If you leave and rejoin the server it should be possible to build again.
  • On local play if you use dyes on an equipped armor piece you must re-equip it before the color change becomes visible

Before we get to the changelog we have another announcement to make:

Join the Exploit Hunters!
Throughout Early Access we would like to reward our community for bringing big exploits to our attention. One of the most important things we can do to make sure Conan Exiles provides a fair and balanced playing field is making sure we eliminate exploits as early as possible.

By working together we can more easily discover exploits which ruin the fun of playing Conan Exiles. So please tell us if you discover such major exploits, and you may receive a nice reward for your efforts and for helping the entire community.

What we are looking for:
  • Serious exploits which can be used in online play and on multiplayer servers. (This would for example be exploits which gave certain players big advantages in the game, like duplicating items or being able to build inside mountains/rocks.)

How to proceed if you find such a serious exploit:
  • Go to conanexiles.com/exploithunters and write a detailed test case for the exploit. You must describe each step needed to reproduce what you have found. Please include your PayPal email so we can reward you for your help. Also, please include your name or Steam user name if you wish it to be included in our list of rewarded Exploit Hunters.
    We will evaluate all the submissions sent to us but only respond to and reward those which have revealed a serious exploit which we were not aware of.

If we deem your submission valuable you may receive a reward of between $100 and $500 sent to you via PayPal. The size of the reward will depend on how valuable we deem your submission. Every rewarded Exploit Hunter which has included their name or Steam name will be listed in the Tech Support and Bug Reports forum on Steam.

Please note, you will not be rewarded if:
  • We were already aware of the serious exploit you discovered.
  • Someone else had already submitted a report on the serious exploit you had found.
  • We do not deem the exploit you found to be severe enough.

  • Tweaked the decay score of certain small placeables. Removed decay from certain placeables that don't claim land.

  • Rocknose Kings now give the correct head type when harvested
  • Changed the dodge mechanic to give more control such that you can no longer dodge while moving forward or partially forward.

Visual Improvements
  • Various female hair fixes
  • Visual polish on NPC dialogue window
  • Visual polish on breath meter
  • Players no longer see Crippling Poison counters when nearby Thralls get poisoned

Server Settings
  • Added a server setting to modify the rate at which players gain corruption
  • Added a server setting to modify the rate at which entertainers remove corruption
  • You can no longer attempt to change Message of the Day (MOTD) unless you are admin
  • ServerSetting "FriendlyFireDamageMultiplier" if enabled no longer prevents players from taking fall damage
  • Setting MOTD through console now supports inclusion of URLs

Text and Localization
  • Added text for all new weapons, dyes and the Dogs of the Desert armor set
  • Added various translations for Brazilian Portuguese

Known issues
  • If you have a Thrall in your inventory when trying to dye an item, your game client will crash. This will be fixed in the next patch

In this update we're also switching over the server settings on some of our PvP Blitz servers. Starting today we're disabling avatars on the following servers:
  • Official 167 - America - PvP Blitz
  • Official 168 - America - PvP Blitz
  • Official 169 - America - PvP Blitz
  • Official 115 - Europe - PvP Blitz
  • Official 116 - Europe - PvP Blitz
  • Official 117 - Europe - PvP Blitz

We've put out a new hotfix. Please update restart your clients to make sure they have the latest version.

Changelog:
  • Hunger and thirst notifications are no longer broadcast to nearby players
  • Added Oceania to the list of regions in the server browser
  • Avatar summoning tokens (true name of X) have durability and a decay rate of 48 hours
