Do you get kicked for using a VPN?

@ithinkimabunny my provider no longer changes IP address....i have had the same one for over 5 years now....i moved and got a new modem in that time frame...still the same IP address....brother in law went back to SPECTRUM after not having the service since it was called bright house....he has the same IP address he had over 10 years ago on the current account.....mac spoof on my current network gets you disconnected with a call to get the modem unlocked.....if you think you got something let me know....i want to see if it works....

Change MAC on router, not modem (not sure how you would even do that although I'm sure some modems may allow this). Power off modem. Cycle router. Power on modem.

MAC is just a unique ID but it not guaranteed to be universally unique. Heck, you can set your iPhone to randomize the MAC every time it connects to a new wireless network so that you cannot be as easily tracked. Edit the WiFi connection and observe the option "Private Wi-Fi Address" with the "Wi-Fi Address" below, which is really just a MAC (Media Access Control) address. It's used by Layer 2 prior to Layer 3 IP routing being established.

IP lease by definition is just that... a lease. Makes no sense that a particular MAC would be associated with a specific IP. Once unused, IP goes back into DHCP free pool for new assignment. The DHCP will associated a particular MAC with a given IP but will only hold the lease for so long before it becomes invalid. While it is possible you may get the same IP, changing the MAC makes this very unlikely as the next address that pops off the stack will have been in queue for next use for longer.

TL;DR you're doing it wrong
