I just Got Called on the Carpet by Comcast

Got an email from Comcast yesterday saying that they had revived a complain about me downloading a torrent. I did, in fact, download a torrent yesterday. It was AMC's "Turn" (pretty decent series). Comcast told me to knock it off, but that was about it. That's the first time I've ever been pinged by an ISP. Anyone else getting flack?

yep i didnt stop and received a letter from the feds stating i was going to receive up to a 10k fine if i didn't stop immediately so I stopped lol. my friend didnt and they shut him off and he was barred from using the net for 2 yrs. sooo... watch out lol

Lol^

Dude you are on their radar. I promise, the best thing to do is give it a break for 6 months or so then maybe......

Given the fact you've been caught, even masking your IP won't help. Seeing huge data transfers can presume illegal activity unless your work actively uses home internet data. Hell, I'm sure they're watching this thread.

wait a minute, there's a web for gay animal porn ? damn I wondered where I sent my farm pics to ? fuck, i'm screwed.

Why not just buy it legitimately?

Excellent question! First, most movies these days are simply ghey. There always has to be a queer involved, women (110 lb women) are just as strong as 235 lb men, and everyone has "attitude". Of course you have to watch at least part of the movie to realize that and by then you're already out $15. Secondly, 98% of the people in the movie business are elitist pieces of shit who fly around the world lecturing us commoners and practicing hypocrisy and I hate the idea of my money going in their pocket.

Oddly enough, a lot of the stuff I download is available on Comcast on demand and Netflix, both of which I have. Sometimes it's more convenient to download and sometimes I download them in advance of traveling so I can watch them on the airplane.

And one last reason for not paying for them: if I did, I'd lose my street cred. Yo!
