Preacher, I thought your articles were right on point and articulated exactly what most of us have been seeing and experiencing for years.
I would say that a good portion of us are the rare breed you refer to who just don't go away and never could. We're just too close of friends to let something like video games come between us, although we do have our share of drama.
Getting together in real life at least once a year helps to solidify those bonds that connect our virtual lives to our real ones.

Preacher, we have a 2 week recruiting period here before anybody can tag up just to make sure there's a good fit. It's one way we try to mitigate the law of diminishing players.
Of course, you're more than welcome to submit an app, at which point one of our recruiting admins will contact you and fill you in on all the ins and outs of being a banzore. It's mostly fun, although it can hurt a little, and in rare cases, it may kill you.
But really, I think we were just having a little fun.
