I just had a win7 update. After the update, all my desktop icons that were related to urls...IE Google, ebay, youtube.....Turned all White. The images are gone. But when I click on them, it takes me to said site. I just finished 2 hours messing around with instructions on how to get the imges back. None work. The only way to get the imges back is to restore my computer before the update which I don't mind at all. But then everytime I log onto my computer, the "Update" pops up and becomes very annoying. Can someone help me with this issue??

Thank You.

Have you tried deleting them and making new shortcuts?  If that doesn't work, hop in TS and grab someone's attention.  We'd be happy to help.

Stranger than fiction.......I have no idea what happend. But I rebooted my computer today, (I was rebooting it as I was going through the instructions and came up with nothing) and Bingo....All the desktop icon images were back to normal.......Like I said, stranger than fiction...

Well, no way to recover the icon images easily, sadly you will want to recreate those. As to images they are normally moved to your designated pictures folder (or even the desktop folder itself) under Old Desktop folders or something like that if something cleaned up your desktop.

Download and use DesktopOK. It saves and restores  your desktop icons, images, and layout. Once you have a save you can simply restore and fix the issue. I like it since it helps prevent everything from disappearing with new driver installs.
