Laphroaig is too 'peaty' for me. At least fresh out of the bottle it is. When I have it I decant it, give it a shake, and then let it breathe for a few hours to dial down the peat flavor and aroma.

My fave these days is the Costco 12 year old blended Scotch which is made by Alexander Murray. Inexpensive, smooth, and perfect for an Old Fashioned.

Laphroaig is too 'peaty' for me. At least fresh out of the bottle it is. When I have it I decant it, give it a shake, and then let it breathe for a few hours to dial down the peat flavor and aroma.
