ReInstall Windows??

About 3 months ago I bought a Samsung EVO Pro SSD with 500gb. I performed the "Merger" of all the data onto that drive. Since then loading up windows is very fast. But the issues I'm having now is windows programs open very slowly. So slow in fact that while I'm waiting it to open, I surf the net for a bit. So my question is this. Should I stick my win 7 disk in and just do a repair and see if that does the job? And if not, reinstall windows????

When in doubt wipe and reload.
