Personally I care because I prefer the truth not lies from my government. If they are willing to have a big cover up and lie about something like that and use it for political gain, what else are they lieing/covering up. I want to know and that's why I care.

A Chinook is a big ass flying bus. While rare to be shot down not unfathomable. Most are lost due to accidents or mechanical failure then to combat by a long shot of course. I spent 5 years and a logged a little over 700 hours as a 67U fying around and and doing maintenance on these helicopters and I have a great affinity for them. They are big and somewhat slow when manuvering. And far more then one has been shot down. Total vietnam losses numbered well into the hundreds with several being unacounted for, assumed shot down since no meyday or radio messages were received prior to losing contact. Not sure where you got that bit of info at but its inacurate. They list combat loses in categories relative to certain models. Maybe the info you seen was for that one model, not overall.
