Thoughts on "KYS" or "Kill Yourself" used in chat

it's an inferiority complex.
More than an inferiority complex it’s a identity issue but that has its roots (I think) in the educational system and language per sé. The demonym of people from South Africa and Central African Republic are South Africans and Central Africans. In most of the countries teach that there are continents and subcontinents, regions, etc. differentiating Oceania from Australia, Indonesia (not New Zealand bc the controversy of the new continent from 10 years ago).

But yeah, you guys are using the term of American before the independence despite the racial issues that existed since then and became the settlers erasing most of every native population so kinda “win” the name of but it’s really like when you see this guy with a huge ego while everyone see this guy as a clown because on how he sees himself. (Not saying this as an insult, just put it on perspective)

In Europe they use Americans too in a colloquial way, in spanish we use the term North American which it’s easier in our language.

Are you implying that American schools do not teach that other continents, subcontinents ( I've generally only seen this applied to India and Arabia ) , and regions exist? If you are then you would be wrong. While the American education system has its faults basic geography is still taught. Whether or not students choose to remember it is another thing.

I'm not really sure what you mean by the rest of your response. The native population of the American continents was displaced, both violently and nonviolently, by all of the colonial European powers. The US is not unique in this regard. What does this have to do with the name of the country of the United States of America or the continents of North and South America? Also "North American" is ambiguous. It can refer to Canadians and even Mexicans in addition to people from the United States. The only time I would say it would be acceptable is if you are uncertain which country of North America a person is from, similar to calling someone "European" instead of say "French", "Spanish", "Polish", or any other demonym if you are uncertain of their specific country of origin.

Oh no I’m not saying that they’re not teaching that, that educational system teach that north and south america are separated continents when they’re just one where you can differentiate 3 subcontinents in it (north, south and central). On the other hand North American is not that ambiguous when you think about it, while America is the whole continent and you guys call your country as the continent it’s easy, not canadians nor mexicans just north americans, the USA is not representative to America.

I was about to say the same thing lol. Literally every thread devolves into politics and/or geopolitics.

The world is going to shit because humanity is shit. Nothing anyone can do about that, the root cause is humans.

Now can we get back to saying the gamer word while playing the game?
Always being a pessimist cuck, the only reason why you can’t change it’s because you don’t want to, be fucking water ffs

Leonardo DiCaprio can’t do shit

Calling it one entire continent because of a tiny connection between the northern and southern part is dishonest. At that rate you should call Europe, Asia, and Africa one continent as well since all three are connected by the Sinai Peninsula. Separating North and South America ( and for that matter Central America as well ) allows for more convenient geographic categorization just like how separating Europe from Asia and Africa - despite them all being one connected landmass - does, which is the entire purpose of defining "continents" at all.

What would you propose a person from the United States of America call themselves? North American could include Mexicans and Canadians as I already said so that's out. United Statsian? That's awkward both phonetically and grammatically, adding the suffix -ian after the plural is not part of generally accepted English grammar. USAian? Now you're having to add something to an initialism ; that would be like calling an FBI agent an FBIian, or an Emirati a UAEian.

You're so focused on decoupling yourself from the United States by reclaiming "American" for everyone else from the continents of North and South America that you're ignoring the fact that every other country within these continents has their own unique demonym already while the USA does not. You're depriving an entire nation of its identity to add a new identity to yourself because ( I suspect ) of some irrational hatred for the USA. In addition to this you are also forcibly grouping together peoples who may not wish to be associated with each other into one macro-group. Do you think your average Paraguayan wants to be confused for a Bolivian? Have we all forgotten the Chaco War? Do you think Brazilians, who have an entirely different cultural and linguistic heritage from every other country in South America ( and who are notoriously proud of this fact ) want to be lumped together with the former Spanish colonial regions of South America? What about Suriname and French Guyana? Your actions cause far more cultural and national erasure than Americans calling themselves "American" causes.
