We are not inherently bad. Every person born is a blank slate wholey and completely for the most part. Its culture and upbringing that determines the person for the most part. If we had a strong generational foundation that aspired to greatness and developed a culture that is condusive to that vision we would come out as supermen, morally speaking. I mean shit man look at cultures around the world, some exist as i describe. Lets say a culture exists in which everyone is happy and everyone has a purpose, we would not be shit. Now apply that to the world and all the beautiful races of man and we wouldnt be shit. Its completely achieveable, they would just need to be taught how to think correctly. In this society we are taught to think incorrectly for the most part.... "whats in it for me". And dont start babbling about outliers as if that completely destroys my point because it does not. Im nearly certain an enlightened society existed before the last great cataclysm.

The suffix -ment is instead added to verbs to make a noun indicating the product or result of the action of a verb or the means or instrument of said action. Words like amazement , bewilderment, and astonishment are indeed evocative of a mental condition but this is countered by words like betterment, disfigurement, and banishment which are not in any way associated with the status of the mind. I would say that the similarity to the Latin mens is instead coincidental.
