Clarification

Need clarification on BZ rule #2 below about using c4 outside of uncap on server No1...
2: ATTACKING UNCAP IS NOT ALLOWED (Conquest Only)
Don't attack the enemy's uncappable base (main base). If they fire out you can return fire.

Had some report me for setting C4 outside uncap on Siege of Shanghi and he called me names for doing it however the rules does not state that this is not allowed.
CrossEyedPilot says it is against rules. I've been doing this for years on that map and never told it was against rules...current rules state not to attack uncap meaning to shoot into it to achieve kills. That is not what I was doing and should be allowed according to that rule. Some in game thought I might be in uncap, but that was not true. I was sitting on top of the bldg throwing c4 into the road so when vehicles come out of uncap and If they don't see it with thermals I would set it off. Don't always get kills as most have thermals on and just shoot it. I did get Angel and she too thought i was in uncap and I told her if I was in uncap, i would be dead as I could not set there in uncap and keep dropping c4. There is only so far back on the building you can go without being in uncap so I sit a little bit away from that line and the c4 lands on the uncap side of the concrete barriers. Those concrete barriers basically define uncap. BTW, if they see me up on bldg, they do shoot at me from uncap which should allow me to fire into their uncap or set c4 in their uncap...but I don't. I set it outside uncap.

As a comparison to this...I've complained about people shooting into uncap and killing me when i'm not shooting back, just spawned and immediately die from someone shooting into uncap to achieve a kill and according to that rule above, is not allowed but enemy side says it is. I don't understand how it is and then being told that setting c4 outside uncap is not allowed which doesn't make any sense to me. If i'm outside uncap and setting C4, that should be allowed according to rules. So please clarify or define the uncap rule please.

Thanks, Geauxfish

Setting C4 down just outside of uncap is treated the same way as placing mines, neither of which we allow (until a team is all-capped). The ban reason in these cases is usually "Mining Uncap".
The reason it isn't allowed is because you're effectively trapping them in their uncap with no way to leave without dying (as shown in your image), so it falls in line with attacking uncap.

If you're not all-capped and are being killed in your uncap in this way, please record and report it.

Hmm, follow along with me.

PLACING mines or C4 at uncap entrance is attacking uncap. This locks armor in the uncap.

Infantry waiting outside uncap to attack infantry or armor as soon as they are clear of uncap is deemed legitimate. Often in reports/appeals, decision comes down to being clear of uncap by 1 inch or 1/4 second.

In Fish's case, he is waiting until armor is clear of uncap and then throwing C4. The armor is in play and nothing as been placed at uncap entrance to prevent passage.

I often get C4d exactly like this on Siege when I clear the uncap concrete walls. I feel it is fair and that I am in play, as I am clear of the concrete barriers at uncap entrance.

Counters to this tactic is for solo driver to swap to gunner immediately, and with experience know exactly where the attacker is, and gunning em down or firing an incendiary. Also, a driver could wait gor a gunner and hit the attacker 2-on-1.

Can you please help me with a similar rule interpretation on this one?

There are two clear paths out of the spawn (green lines). Placing a mine (red star) on these stairs is only a few feet from the out of bounds line (red line).

It seems like this is a case where this rule would not apply because you're still allowing safe travel out of the uncap, but I could also see getting reported for this.

Look, GoFish.

We're not going to say this again, it's COMMON SENSE.

I see mines, C4, and all kinds of wackadoo shit at those exact spots and never seen an issue there or anyone fuss over it or anyone get punished over it. Seems like "the line" moves from instance to instance. In this instance, Geauxfish just should not do anything near there where most others are fair game around those same areas.

All it takes is one person to complain or report it in game...and CrossEyedPilot verified in game chat that is not allowed to attack uncap, which my stance was I'm not attacking uncap, only outside of uncap. With that info I wanted to verify it with BZ which is why I posted for clarification. Until yesterday...no one ever reported it which is what Sabre and Covert are talking about...its always been done and usually after one time dying from c4, they usually come after me and get me and usually solves their frustration with no reports being sent, and that is why I didn't know it was not allowed. Now knowing its an unfair offense, I will move further away from the uncap line to set c4. Thanks for clarification!

I distinctly remember Panda telling me, something to the effect of "they can be in their uncap all they want unmolested" and when I pitched the same scenario when I was in the uncap it was "if you do that you'll be banned, you know better" and "baiting" came into play.

It's selective instance to instance rules and it's subjective to players. It's bullshit.

But did you see secret bullshit rule #10 on page 7 of some random thread? It's obviously common sense /s

Then why was this "common sense" a double standard? They could do x, but if "I" did x, it would be griefing? Because bullshit.

Geauxfish can't place the mines/c4 whatever in the locations that were in the pictures, but I've seen doooooooooozens of dudes doing the same thing, with plethora of admins in-game too and nothing came of it.

And just last game guy was camping our uncap with machine gun truck and got me twice trying to get out of uncap...where this screenshot shows i just spawned and was gunned down without shooting out of uncap. So this is fair and allowed?

This is hilarious. This is why a rule can't be defined as "common sense." Common sense is inherently subjective and overly broad.

The rule might as well be, "Try to Read the Mind of the Admin and Guess What They Consider Common Sense."

It's amazing that time after time issues come up like this only to be resolved as, "yeah, how come you don't understand... this is common sense".

This is unsustainable.
