We used to be 21 and over ONLY. I was never in favor of going for 18+, but if you're old enough to fight for our country, you're old enough to fight with us here.
Most of us are older, don't live with our parents, are married, have kids, etc. I don't have a lot in common with people under 18 and don't really want to spend my free time with them. Nothing against them, but it's kind of creepy for a 44 year old man to hang out with 18 year olds and younger.
We're an adult club and the number one qualification for being in an adult club is to #1, be an adult. and #2, ACT like an adult. It's very difficult for a young person to do this. Not your fault, it just comes with age.
Waaaay back in the day when we tried letting in younger folks, I had to talk to some kid's mom about what we were talking about on Ventrillo or TeamSpeak, whatever we were using then, and it was super embarrassing for everybody. I think we ended up asking her for nudes and we never saw or heard from them again.
As far as getting butt hurt about not being an admin, they're doing you a favor. It's a super pain in the ass and by definition, you're going to piss somebody off with every complaint and action or non-action taken. It's a thankless job that you end up doing far more than playing the stupid game.
